Two schools of thought and I don't think either is wrong. Some people map out the whole fixture list, work out which big team they're saving for which week, and stick to the plan. Others look at one round, take the safest-looking win on the board, and worry about next week next week.
Planners tend to get caught when a fixture moves or form falls off a cliff. Week-by-week players tend to burn their best teams early and run out of road.
